36. Framed in Hong Kong

If there is any place that would be considered ac facade heaven, it would have to be hong kong. The sheer scale of building facades with ancient ac condensers growing on them is just impressive, made even more intriguing with their play with 1960s architecture. One thing we noticed are several examples where there is a relationship between the scale of the building facade with ac condensers. Sometimes this might be deliberate, sometimes just coincidence...note the 2nd picture. It appears that initially smaller niches above the casement windows could have possibly been designed to fit small ac condensers. However, your typical condenser size has since grown, resulting in the 4 larger condensers that appear to be "expelled" from class...
