27 . acfacade...

what happens when compressor units start to dictate the looks of all our surroundings? lets start with a silly composition of compressor units lined up to form the title of this blog...

Got some interesting photos of acfacade you took recently and would like to share? Send the images to urbanomania@yahoo.com or hinnong@yahoo.com. We will publish and credit you accordingly. Keep the world cool and green!

25 . Multiplicity

At AC Facade we consider rooftop as Top Facade, as it is also part of building envelope. It is another territory awaiting the colonisation of ac condensers. If you follow our blog you may already know that one of the main catalysts of ac phenomena is programmatic change. Here we imagine an approx 400% growth of ac consumption of a building.

24 . AC Flower Box

AC Facade is going green! By combining flower box and ac condenser, the two elements commonly found hanging on building facade, a new kind of urban landscape is created.

23 . Candy Boxes on Architetti

No.8 post of AC Facade, Candy Boxes, is selected as the feature image of the article about International Graphic Competition Felicity Project on www.architetti.com.

22 . AC Roots

Air-conditioning is a trade of logics. Like tree roots taking their shortest routes to reach for water, the placement of FCU and condenser is strategic, considering the as-minimum-as-possible length of trunking for technical and economical reasons.

For an old building, with no provision for ac system, it is inevitable to run exposed trunking on the facade. Layers and layers of trunking are added as the function of the building evolve through time. The absence of ac condensers and trunking reveals us traces of time; a superimposition of history of the facade, of its renovations. Like a massive tree with an extensive and complex rooting system, it covers whatever on the ground within its reach.

21 . Candy Boxes - Winner of International Graphic Competition Felicity Project

AC Facade's post no.8, 'Candy Boxes', is finally selected as a winner of the International Graphic Competition Felicity Project. It was indeed a rough journey for all participants. Winners were initially supposed to be selected by the highest number of votes but the organizer found out that some entries got voted in a non-permitted way so the winners are eventually selected by the jury instead. We found out that some entries received more than 1,000 votes within 3 days. Can you believe that? Those guys really overdid it! However, though we only received 22 votes at the end of the day, we are honoured to be selected by the jury as one of the 40 winners, out of over 600 entries from 60 countries and 140 finalists.
